I recognize quite a few of those cars, I have even spotted the car with Oregon plates and XR4TI window sticker in Redlands with some lanky kid, cigarette hanging out of the mouth, pulling into the local hillbilly rod shop. Too bad I can't read, or I would have been there too...

Yeah we're not allowed to rotate our intakes. -=o(
They passed a law saying we can run intercoolers even without a CARB EO number, however, we cannot modify the intake system to fit it.
I guess as long as it's a clean job, the tech may not know about a Merkur and think its OEM.

By the way, the intake air temps running the charge pipe in the stock location over a rotated setup shouldnt be that much if you keep moving. I understand it heatsoaking when lining up at the track or in traffic though. I would have definitely done it if the EGR could be deleted.
