where are you getting the foam and are you using a spray adhesive to attach it? How are you cutting/finishing the foam? I have always been curious about seat building.

You can get the stuff from http://www.miamicorp.com/

I have a friend that did it with my direction.

I have found lots of youtub-e video showing how to cut the foam. mainly you can use a electric cutting knife( think turkey) and a spray adhesive.. it much easier than you would think. the hard part is making it symetrical..

wish it wasn't damn near impossible to get one of the 5.3L truck engines through the referee.

Who knows as my mind seems to change from one second to the next, but buying a LS/T56 2000-ish? onwards Camaro or Firebird seems to be the way to go for a CA V8 swap.

I agree. if I could just do a truck motor it would make the swap so much easier and tons cheaper. of course it would have to have a turbo on it.

technically the light duty truck motors were also able to pass smog as long in a car as long as it had the smog equipment. according to CA bar rules.

It's funny. After I sold my last car I looked around for projects that would be a easier ie. PRE-SMOG but nothing really scratched the itch that the XR does.

Unique engine
Unique body
Good to drive out of the box
RWD.

It ticks a lot of boxes.

Tim it should work with an L33, in my research the mounting points are the same on all the ls blocks.

That's what I figured.
I've cleared room in my budget to get one.

I'm beginning to read this thread. It's a damned shame that Photobucket is what it is now. Pics don't load, but an endless stream of ads does.
