Swap a 2.3 turbo into the VW. :wink:

In my 200,00 miles in the different XR4Tis, the engine has never failed me.

Ok, once when the water pump failed. And if you count a timing belt with less than 20,000 miles on it, that would make two times for the 2.3.
More for other things like brake cylinders, alternators,ECUs.....but the engine itself is solid.

I've had a V-dub...one, and won't have another. I've had 3 XR4s, though. But good luck with yours!

Added a fairly rare KAMEI "Hood Scoop" .... Found it on eBay.de..... Need to find a colour match paint... Whatcha think??

I'm all about the vw's, have had 4 (3 mk2, 1 mk3) in the past few years. Of everything I've owned, I've been most attached to them.

I don't understand the cabrio thing though, but I'm against most convertibles so my opinion isn't valid. Is it an 8v or 16? And CIS (mechanical) or digifant (electronic) fuel injection?
1985 XR4Ti, Mineral Blue, not much to brag about.

drove it from Vancouver to Toronto... 4602km door to door.... took slightly less than 60hrs.... lost 5th gear outside of Brandon Man.... made it though.... I love My Cabriolet

Kev, don't worry! I know where it's at! You din't lose it. Its under that tin cover..A few minutes to spin off the screws and a coupla circlips and bang on some fresh ones.

Thanx John.... gotta find a place to tear into it.... It kept popping out of 5th, I just put it back in... eventually nothin but "crunchy" noises. No real place to work on it, My brother in law owns a Mr Transmission... prolly have Him look at it, WAAAy easier...
