Large NPR intercooler piping

Anyone using a large NPR intercooler with a stock location throttle body? I'm curious what piping and couplers you used to make the connection from the intercooler to the throttle body. I have a fabricated 120 upper that i have been having a lot of issues with cracking at the welds. I'd like to switch to a gutted stock upper intake to solve this and a couple other issues.

I've seen it with SVOs, Mustangs, and T-birds, but they have a lot more room between the radiator and the front of the engine and their setup won't work.

I am running that setup now.

2.25 x 3 90° silicone at the TB
2' aluminum tube 90°
3" straight silicone coupler
a 4"ish piece of 3"aluminum tube
3" silicone 90° from there to the IC

It gives about 3/4" of clearance between the tubing and the aalternator pulley. I am only running one belt...

That's a huge help. I'm wondering if I should do 3" or 2.5". 2.5" would probably offer a little more clearance. I suppose I could see how difficult it would be to move the engine back with the Chuck mounts I am using to offer up a little more clearance.

The outlet on the NPR is 2.75, did you just clamp down on the 3" elbow?

I just checked. The elbow at the intercooler is a 3" × 2.75" 90°.

This is the big NPR with a 90° intake. We are making 90° intakes again if you want to go this route http://www.merkurdepot.com

Is anyone running an NPR with stock headlights? I've always wondered if it would fit OK with the stock inner light brackets still there...

I have the stock head lights and large NPR IC, no problems right now, but I will put the mustang head lights back on the car very soon and I think it'll be ok too.

I think that shorty radiator is probably enough to keep the car cool all times of the year??? Considering they never really get too hot, stock, do they?

Another question I had, could one of you guys with the NPR I/C post a picture of the part number on the IC? Usually says Tokyo Radiator, correct?

Do you guys with this combo still have the front and rear fan, A/C?

Not trying to hijack anyone's thread, but what year mustang lights? I could definetly use some better headlights..

Guys in blazing AZ summer heat report cooler summer temps with the shorty rad vs the stock rad.

The big NPR IC takes up the same real estate that the AC condenser and front fan do, so those have to go
