Still making small repairs the past wk-end. What pieces I couldn't account for I tried to mold my own. Using popsicle sticks or the like, I added boundary for the shape. Once it cures completely I'll remove/grind them down.

Before I went further into the bump repair, I needed to know if the replacement end pins, that the corners side into were going to be to my liking, the replacement is a bit longer, made me concerned on how far out the bumper would stand as well as getting it correctly positioned.

Good thing I did, here's a shot of the trial fit..mind the screws, not going to install the pop rivets until the bumpers ready. Now this was with only the right side rear mount drilled out and just pressed in...

As you can see...got more gap than I like. Odd it fit great on the white car

Now what I did to get it closer, short of cutting the bumper down the center and removing a small section....was tempted :D

I went and removed the left stock one and drilled in out, both side but just a little lower to raise the bumper a smidge. But now I used two studded rubber mounts, like radiator support, fuel pump cradles, small motors that vibrate. Just something I had held on to, don't throw much away.

Passenger side has some deeper wear, think from the tire rubbing on the way home from wreck

This one I might have to revisit to check why it wants to pull at the fender mount

Been looking back at pics, noticed the OEM arches weren't coming all the way to fender line, where you usually line the bumper up horizontally. Was over gapped here with stock bumper..

and here with the RS bumper...
Image

thinking the Sierra fenders that were installed might be of slightly different molds(aftermarket..non Ford) and with higher steel arch making the mounting of flare to ride high..then my other car was running Rob Booth arches and installed as needed

When you first installed the bumper, you adjusted it so there was no gap between grill and bumper. And when you had the arches installed, they were adjusted to match the arch of the bumper. Now that you have OEM flares that bolt into the stock holes, the bumper will now have a gap which is expected from the cossie stuff on our cars.

I have the same issue. Bumper was installed first and adjusted for no gap, then flares. Now i have front tire clearance issues and need to find tires smaller than 23.8" to clear my OEM bumper which I had to modify as well for the same inside wear you have on yours.

Rallllly...just how much of a gap is stock? Most of the pics I've seen looked to be fairly close..say 1/8-1/4"
