Too funny.

This thread is kind of funny to read. I have a 1990 Cabriolet and 2015 Jetta and I'd love to get rid of the Cabriolet and get an XR again.

I remember those momo rim ads in road and track from back in the day. You could put in different color inserts which was pretty different. Do you have a X/R band escort radar detector and super sweet panasonic tape deck with adjustable EQ in there as well?

Re: Sold My XR
Hi all,
In regards to the VW Cabriolet, I was living in Japan in the '90's and almost bought one of those. I was looking for a convertible and the two I liked were the VW and a Peugeot 205. I drove both and the VW was tighter in the body, by far. You could feel the 'Pigit' body flexing on city streets during a test drive. The VW was very high priced in Japan but I thought I might buy one. I had a business trip to Cali during that time and stopped at a VW dealer to look at them there. I saw one totally loaded with all options, including leather interior, for about $22K. I went back to Japan and priced one there. It was about $40K equivalent and leather was a plus option after that. I bought a used Kawasaki sport bike for cash and was far happier as it was by far the fastest possible way to get a round in Tokyo. This was the time period when I left my XR with my Dad to drive in US.
Cheers
