Airbox Alternatives?
Airbox Alternatives?
Is there a similar air box, like the Sierra Cosworth, the can be bolted into the XR? Almost pulled a SuperCoupe airbox but didn't look like it would work.

Re: Airbox Alternatives?
To a stock XR? No, not even close. The VAM is quite large and has fairly specific orientation requirements and the space between the turbo inlet and corner of the car is quite small.

You could do what I and many other have done. Remove the stock air box, and pipe the intake through the sheet metal into the space in front of the wheel well - there is room there for a good sized K&N type cone filter. Works great and sounds good too!

are you wanting to use it with an engine swap or with the VAM? I used 2 90s plus that roughly 70 degree pipe to put the filter just behind the opening in my cosworth bumper.

You could convert to '89 coolant plumbing, ditch the vam with an aftermarket ECU, and then run the actual cosworth airbox
