My links in Spanish. Not sure if that's article is about a company building brand new ones for $100k. They are hard to sell at $25k. It's a shame they never hit collects status . I'm not sure many would pay that much for a car that would get dusted badly by a new Hyundai Elantra. If they were just more performance orientated (130hp stock)I would of never sold mine.

Johnny Carson told a very funny joke about the DeLorean car: They will run without gas because you can 'snort start' it in the morning and then it will follow any white line!

Perhaps I should mention that JD was busted for a large cocaine deal to raise money for the company after his wife turned him in; for younger readers not familiar with the history....

Here's a fun trivia question...
There were two significant marques (more than 5K cars sold) that existed only during the 1980's.
DeLorean is one... this "new" DMC is still selling 1980's cars. Can you name the other one?

Merkur? Not existing now, obviously... Existing then. DeLorean are selling again in Texas, aren't they?

No new ones yet.
They've been talking about it a LONG time now. I have doubts that this is ever going to come to fruition.

Oh yeah... the correct answer to the Trivia Q is Merker.

That's not what happened. JCD was approached by his former neighbor, who happened to be an FBI informant, about setting up a coke deal. JCD agreed to the deal and the FBI arrested him during the deal. JCD neither proposed nor arranged the deal, nor actually sold anything. A friend took advantage of a man in a pretty desperate financial situation and created an entire scenario with the express purpose of getting JCD to hang himself. It was textbook entrapment. DeLorean never should have agreed to the deal, obviously, but it was still a pretty evil thing to do to a man in pain.

Wonder how much longer before Elon Musk does a similar deal?
