Modern Ford Fiesta - a donor for Merkur parts?

Post by DPDISXR4Ti »

Just stumbled across this today. It appears that the modern (2011-2013) Ford Fiesta uses a "Merkur" part, the cargo lamp lens, p/n E6RY-13776-A, as pictured below...

Here's the bigger break-out diagram showing all the parts in the headliner. I wonder if the sun visors and attachment fittings might also be the same as the stuff used on the XR and/or Scorpio....

And who knows what else???

Good catch, looks like they've been using that lamp assembly undisturbed for the past 30 or so years. Sadly not a lot else has been given the same treatment. Using the common Merkur prefixes (E5RY, E6RY, E7RY and E8RY) in my system here I only get a couple hits on anything newer than 1998.

E5RY*13466*A which is actually just a 194 bulb and E7RY*6397*A which changes into a hardware # W701350*S437 and is a dowel.

Cheers!

Good for us, yet I look at that now and wonder why they haven't gone to LED's... how silly that anyone building cars in the late 2010's is still using incandescant light bulbs!

Not a fan of LED lighting especially in/near my eyes.

YMMV

A couple weeks back I was junkyard roaming and came across a couple 2011 Fiestas. Looked all over the cars, especially the headliner, and didn't find this interior lens anywhere. I wonder if it's just really well hidden, or not actually used after all.

Did a little more on-line searching and found the part was supposedly used on these application...

Ford EcoSport 2018
3 Cyl 1.0L EcoBoost 120PS/125PS/140PS, 4 Cyl 2.0L

Ford Fiesta 2011-2018
3 Cyl 1.0L EcoBoost 120PS/125PS/140PS, 4 Cyl 1.6L, 4 Cyl 1.6L EcoBoost SCTi -Sigma, 4 Cyl 1.6L GTDI Sigma, 4 Cyl 1.6L TIVCT PFI Sigma

Ford Focus 2000-2011
4 Cyl 2.0L, 4 Cyl 2.0L CVH EFI, 4 Cyl 2.0L Duratec HE, 4 Cyl 2.0L Zetec EFI, 4 Cyl 2.0L Zetec VVT, 4 Cyl 2.3L

Most notable is the Focus, as they're like highway litter in the Ford sections nowadays. (i.e. everywhere)

Not the most important topic I realize, but now I have to figure it out, just because.

I thought I mentioned this right after I bought my 2104 Fiesta SE, but the power mirror switch( I haven't pulled it out yet) looks identical on the "pretty side"(the side we look at and touch) as the Scorpios power mirror switch.
