Odd paint color

Post by Stussy »

Fairly new to the merkur scene but I’m wondering about this paint option I’ve seen. It’s a “triple black” merkur with double gold pin stripes. I can’t find this anywhere on the forum or online and I’ve seen not only one but two cars with this paint job. Was this an actual thing? Both were late model single wing cars.

If the door sticker is still there, you should be able to check what the original paint code was (likely though that it was resprayed at some point)

Seems like the only original black is a regular black.

I never think to look at the door sticker. I’ll for sure check it out next time I see one.

Triple black sounds a lot like people calling non-moonroof XRs competition shells. My guess is you've got a mono-black car with a black interior and either dealer applied or after-market pinstriping.
