Dumb question: Will anyone please share the part number for the correct diff for our application? For posterity?

That's the TrueTrac I think. Do you want that or the clutch type LSD?

Well, it's funny that you would ask that question. I did want the TrueTrac. When I ordered, Chris thought I wanted the clutch type so that's what he sent. Being that I was on the fence about which one to get, I decided to keep the clutch type. We'll see how that works for me. If I don't like it, I can always sell it and get the TrueTrac to put in one of the other diff cases I have sitting around

FWIW, I've only raced once or twice with the Eaton. The rest of the miles have been on the street and I have zero complaints with the Eaton. It's quieter than my OEM diff was in all scenarios except coming to a stop in neutral (get some "whirring" from the rear). I am on solid beam and diff mount though.

Mostly Eaton in here, but I'm wondering if anyone has a model year for the T/A Camaro or Firebird rear diff that fits. I know 82-93 or so, just wondering if I might be able to find one in a yard or part out. I have a few diff housings from the XR, might attempt to do the swap on the cheap to see if I can get it to work.

Thanks!

Here's the description from the Jeg's website. Says 10-bolt from '75-'89.

I'm attempting to rebuild my first rear diff. by installing a GM Detroit Truetrac. I know there's quite a bit discussions/info on this thread and on MC2racing installation procedure. I was going to explain what I plan to do and allow others who have already done this to chime in on any recommendations or correct me if I'm wrong.

Per DSPXR4ti dated back on April 18th 2007, he specified he used a .150 ring gear spacer for his Eaton diff. versus the offset bearing races Grayson recommends. Comparing the distances of my stock diff to the Detroit diff. I have, I measured I'd need about a .1405" thick ring gear spacer. To me it seems the .150" would work and assume I have some measurement error seeing he's been running on the setup for a while (not sure if that's still the case with how long it's been). Continuing on, I'd still need to make the .250" thick spacer on the right stub shaft as shown in the MC2racing installation procedure (non-ring gear side). If anyone's aware of the correct part numbers for the offset bearing races, I'd entertain that option instead.

Since MC2 is no longer providing parts, is anyone aware of the correct 43mm stub shaft seal part number Grayson refers to that's not prone to pre-mature failure? From what he said the 42mm seal has the issues.

Currently I've have my diff taken apart and looking to replacing the stub shaft seals since they're bad. Otherwise, I've designed a 0.150" thk. ring gear spacer and .250" spacer for the stub shaft but have yet to get them made. Otherwise, the bearings/races, O-rings, s.s. shim tape, snap rings, and longer ring gear bolts I plan to order soon if the offset race part numbers are unknown.
