The cladding is just getting restored back to dark grey. There's a few spots that are worn out and the front bumper was definitely already repainted an off grey colour and it didn't adhere too well!andyofcolumbusmerkur wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 4:07 pm It's your car, ya know, so do what you want. But it is a pretty clean 1985. You don't see a ton of them. Have you thought about keeping it close to original? Once you paint that lower body cladding it will be like all those other cars made into a mono. Same with making it into a track terror. What about finding another one to do all or some of that stuff to? One where you wouldn't feel so bad getting rock chips or taking out a few traffic cones. Plus you can sometimes buy someone else's unfinished project for less than what they got in it.
I totally hear you on going crazy with the modifications. The hy35 isn't set in stone and the ms2 is plug and play thankfully. I'd like to get a reliable and not overworked 350tq at the wheels. If my daughter wants more power than that then I'll help her achieve this.
Plan is to make it a resto-mod so it'll essentially look 90% factory on the outside. The only exterior mods are going to be:
-Sierra badging
-Sierra tail light panel with license plate relocation
-GTS clear headlight covers
-Vacuum formed headlight lenses to run projectors
-Cossie inspired front grill
-Tbird wheels
-Colour matched pin striping
Interior is only getting:
-Mazda mx3 front seats wrapped in medium grey leather with suede centers (grip!)
-Tidy up the gauges
-Proper 4 channel amp and speaker setup with subwoofers under the front seats
-Rear quick disconnect shock brace
The cars paint wasn't maintained for a looooong time and it's very very hazzey and stained. So she definitely needs a cut and buff and the grill and spoiler repainted. Otherwise just yanking some dents out lol
