Touch up/painting cladding's accent

Post by Chris_12 »

As I am sitting at work, I am trying to figure out how to touch up my bumpers. I have a bluish-gray 87 (similar to what is pictured) that has some type of red pinstripe (I will call it that for now) on the bumpers and cladding. It is peeling right now, and I want to touch it up this spring once it gets warm enough to paint.

Does anyone know the official color of the pinstripe or a better alternative? Is it "rose" per SEM? https://semproducts.com/public/content/ ... 18_web.pdf

I think Mike over at Merkur Depot has some cladding strips. Not sure if he has entire sets but he has various strips in maple red, silver and possibly black. From my experience paint doesn't like to stick to these very well. If I was going to paint them I'd use an adhesion promoter along with a quality paint.
The car will be finished soon.
