Sorry, but I've got all you beat in that category. :P Please, a Pontiac Grand Prix nose on a Merkur? The rest of you can now drop out of the competition.

I guess this means I actually gotta get it done now, huh?

Isn't anyone else interested in a "Nicest Sounding Exhaust" contest category?

If by "Nicest Sounding Exhaust" you mean "Best Peterbilt Impression," then yes, I'm interested. :)

I would contend that a "Nicest Sounding Exhaust" award would be akin to having a "Prettiest Baby" award at an "Ugly Baby Competition"! :?

BS. [But I get the wit...the little there was of it :P]

So many XR owners talk about having or wanting a nice sounding exhaust. What constitutes that I wouldn't try to define.

Because it isn't necessary to define it; people know what sounds good when they hear it.

And, that's the idea. Just a simple, no rules/regulations opportunity for everyone/anyone to show their stuff. And for the crowd to cast their vote for their favorite(s).

Just like American Idol but without need for any Bwana judges.

Yes, it's an important part of a cars character but do you mean at idle with the occasional blip of the throttle or full chat, bouncing off the rev limiter, wastegate chettering and with the occasional anti lag rifle shot? I'd prefer the latter but it might be tough to do on the showfield (fun though).

a pontiac grand prix front on an xr? that'll look like ass!

anyway, i like the idea of a junkyard dog award, and the " why the hell did you do that" award, although dpdisxr4ti would definately have to win that one.

Yes, there are too many guys who say.... "I am running just a downpipe and side turnout. Its pretty loud but sounds great."

Yeah, whatever.... Maybe I am old (just turned 37) but my idea of a nice exhaust would be to have a nice burble at idle, but no ringing ears after 8 hours in the car.

Brad..... I looked hard but could not find the sound clip from Shrek. Lord Farquad sees Shreck and Donkey come into his castle... He looks and says "What is that ? Its hiddeous!!!!!" Shrek replies "Its just a donkey".

Anyways, If I had that clip, I'd play it. Gran Prix.... Indeed !
