Will you frown on me...

Post by Ray »

If i trailered the XR to carlisle? The car isn't really set up to be something comfortable on the street (thanks mc2racing! :) ) and i might be buying a trailer soon... and my truck has a radio.

i would probably trailer to the campground, then drive the XR from there to the show.

Nothing wrong with that at all. Go for it!
If I was able to go this year, the Rally car would have been towed also.

:withstupid

You certainly wouldn't be the first - several cars were trailered in last year.

What campground are you staying at? If it's the one on-site at the fairgrounds, you won't even need to start the engine in the morning - you can simply push it down the hill! :)

Basically do whatever you have to do to get yourself to Carlisle. Trailers are OK in my book. So are airplanes, or any other means of transportation to get you to Carlisle.

I think the bar was raised last year by that guy that was selling plasma the week prior, so he'd have enough money for gas to get to Carlisle.

truck's name is Mr. Reliable for a reason, Sam. And i really dont want to drive 300 miles or so in a race bucket with no padding...

This is something i've wanted to get for a while now (as some of you know). I just wish they weren't so much damned money.

Only if you want to be beaten!

It kinda all depends on who's directing traffic, and if we're running low on spaces. Last year, it damn near came to a fist-fight when some guy with a F150 was certain that he was in the proper location. "See, this sign says M-E-R-K-U-R and the side of your truck says F-1-5-0", so that means you don't belong here.

Frown on you? No. Poop on you (literally)? Probably.

Poster in the car? You know a "vinyl guy" so why don't you have him make a giant vinyl sticker for the entire Focus that looks like an XR4Ti and stick it on the car. Then at least it will look like a Merkur.

 I remember that guy. As soon as he opened his mouth I just walked in the opposite direction as quickly as possible.
