well, well. Quite a few good ideas here!
I am working a some volunteers (any more takers wanna be a judge?) to take your suggestions and turn them into awards this year. You'll just have to come to Carlisle and join the fun to find out who won what!!

I think Godfrey would look uncomfortable accepting an award for *Cutest Merkur Owner* or even the *Gayest Merkur* as was suggested earlier!!
Thanks Colin for chipping in!

Nope, it'll be a similar number to last year (~15). A few adds/changes/deletes to keep things different, but not wholesale change like we did last year.wilky wrote:Sounds good to me Norm - is this the final decision.tannehilln wrote:Lets get down to say five awards

All,
The awards are finalized for this year. Yes, there are more than just 5 categories. Remember, we only gather on a grand scale like Carlisle once a year (unfortunately!), so we need to make it as special as possible. I will see you all in a few weeks!!!

We talked about that and purposely made some of the categories more elastic in scope to encompass that. Sometimes the awards have been too narrow in definition, and the judges were sorta forcing someone into a category where the achievement didn't quite match the award title. Hope that makes sense.wilky wrote:I trust were doing something to recognise the young Merkaholics this year?
