I am not exactly sure who they are or where they are from. All I know is that from Merkur Parts Midwest knows who I am talking about...maybe I will call them to find out. This has turned into a fiasco when all I wanted to do was say thank you to a few strangers who helped me when I really needed it!!!!!!!!!!

I do know that Don had a Merk it was the reddish brown color and it was an automatic, very nice looking car too I might add. They had on name tags so I was assuming they were members of MCA.

I f the guys who helped me read this again I really appreciate your help and from the bottom of my heart I thank you!!!!!!!

I am done.

Can anyone fill me in on what happened that XR4TIboostedmom needed some help? Was this on the convoy or something after arriving in Carlisle?

Just curious here...

That's one thing i love about merkur people, they're so friggin' friendly. I mean, most car guys are nice for the most part, but i've found the merkur community to be especially great.

We have to be understanding, since most of us has BTDT. We all know that they are not the most reliable, and I have a special empathy for those who "fly the flag" by driving their Merks as daily drivers.

Steve and I were leaving the Hotel Carlisle for the airport in Kay Ertl's car and had plenty of time to go. Good thing too, as all of the brake juice had leaked out of the left rear wheel cylinder. We bought some Dot-3 or whatever at the truck stop, and I tooled around the parking lot in the car, pumping the brakes and trying to get it to stop without having the pedal on the floor. Steve K drove back to Cleveland using the emergency handbrake. Whooooaaaaaaaaa.

Its not like we are driving super reliable cars, and everyone knows it. Carlisle wouldn't be the same if we all got there in our honda civics and just swapped stories about our new speakers and pinstriping.

I've got an old worn out pair of size 14 Caterpillar steel toes if you need cores for a big brake upgrade.
