It would seem nobody stocks this part in the US, so you're looking at $100 to have it shipped over from the UK. I discovered yesterday that I have a new one on hand (not the Febi - the one typically used), so I'm going ahead and installing that.

Re: Flex Joint options... <aka Guibo, Giubo>
That's a shame. I was really hoping to get some feedback about the alternative style.
The part itself is more expensive than the original part (at around $70-75), but that could be a good thing, meaning it is a better and longer lasting part.
But that extra shipping adds more pain
I don't understand why we can't get a trade agreement between US and Europe that gets the shipping costs down.
I buy stuff from China and it is free shipping or very little cost.
BTW I was looking here:

and they had this cross reference table:

I tried googling those numbers but they were all only available in Europe.

Wish I had seen this sooner. I have a poly guibo that had been installed and driven less than a hunded miles and maybe even less than a mile (don't recall if the car was on the road at the time). $25 plus shipping. Also Motomobil in Germany has oem type ones in stock but you have the expensive shipping and time factor.
I was going to attach a photo but the attachment tab is no longer avaiable. Even tried a different browser and switched off vpn. The listing shows adjacent holes as 50mm apart and opposite holes 90mm apart and thickness 30mm and hole size 30mm and yes it's the same as on the XR.

I am not sure that it is the same as installing new. The new one is banded, from what I recall when talking to Russ @ Rapido, he mentioned to not remove the band until it is installed. But, as mentioned, I'm not sure how critical that is.bobsright wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 12:48 pm Wish I had seen this sooner. Which guibo style do you have?
We're talking about two different styles guibos here. We desire feedback regarding the new style guibos.
This is the "New" style This is the "old" style I suspect if you paid $25 then you are referring to the "old" style

Just confirmed the Attachment Tab appears in Reply mode and works for me.
Re "poly" guibo, do you mean polyurethane? That poly in bushings is known to disintegrate on it's own, without overuse or contamination.
YMMV

To my knowledge trade agreements don't cover shipping costs.brokencase wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 11:55 am

Some years ago I read that China subsidized shipping costs (maybe selectively) on domestic exports. That, from my purchasing experiences of Chinese origin merchandise, would seem likely, similar to your experiences.
I would think there might be lower cost shipping options (if also slower) from Europe, but Euro sellers have no incentive to identify and use alternative shipping options.
YMMV

Ignoring Ed's replies.
Ed, the FEBI BILSTEIN 5539 will fit our Scorpios. So please don't side track the discussion.
Patiently waiting for bobsright reply to my post.
Ed, also, will you please resize and reduce the size of your posted images from your cell phone...please?

Ed, I don't care what some face book guy says.
We are not talking about some kind of half a$$ BMW or Jaguar part substitution here.
The FEBI BILSTEIN 5539 is a more modern replacement part specified for the Scorpio.
OK?

Explanation of raised bolt holes below. It's a bit different than the original style guibo.DPDISXR4Ti wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 11:06 amYou would think it means the companion flange was inset to receive those.Ed Lijewski wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 10:31 am Wondering about the purpose of this aspect-the three raised edge bolt hole collars-of the Febi 05539:
Not sure this means for certain that the Scorpio version has these raised bolt holes though. Could have been a stock image.
