headlights on no left turn signal

Just got the turn signals to work on my '89 automatic; now with parking and/or headlights on the left turn signal does not work; it works without lights on; right turn works all the way. Wrong bulb? Ideas? Thanks

You'll find a few things to check are:
1. The signal stalk's hazard switch. They are failure prone, and cause what you're describing. The internal mechanism turns to crap. Sometimes you can work it out- sometimes not. If your car has cruise, and you intend to keep it, start looking now for a spare stalk - they're getting rarer. If no cruise - no problem finding a new replacement, but prepare to pay either way.

Check the bulbs in your LH tail light housing.
I foolishly chased just such a problem on a friend's car, ASSuming he knew enough to check that he had the right bulbs in there...

I will check the bulb; even with that side working without headlights on, the stalk and or bulb or ground could still be at fault? This is a hope to learn something question. How is it the headlights on overides the left signal and not the right?

This guy had a 1056 where an 1157 should have been. Shorted the brake light into the marker lights.
You could also have a short in the wiring connecter. Pull it off and have a good look.

I did a search for correct bulbs and found nothing. Is there a listing somewhere for the bulb sizes?
