I am bulding the car for track days, if I race it would be in NASA TTR.
I have Koni single adjustable shocks now, but I plan on later going to Bilstein ASN's, and using a shock dyno, which I am getting ready to build, and valve them to suit the car.
I work as a network engineer for the local power company.

How do you build a shock dyno?
Any thoughts on going with another type of damper, QA1, AFCO, etc?
Just picking your brain a bit - hope it's not too annoying.

I have collected all the parts for a shock dyno, load cell, sensors, valves, data AQ board, ect. I just have to build the frame to put it in.
AFCO's factory is just down the road from me, I would like to use them, But ask AFCO, QAI, or any of the circle track guys about road racing shocks and you will get a dumb look.
At least Bilstein will sell you every part that goes in their shock, and you can pick them up used cheap off ebay from Winston cup cars. Just revalve them for what you need. And if you are going to revalve shocks you need a shock dyno.

Pictures from garage cleaning day
I just got finished making all of the molds for the car, so it was time to clean out all of the dust and fiberglass out of the garage.
Here are some pics of the car.
A few more pictures here.

Jeebus.
You know... looking at the car the way it sits right now, you didn't have to cut anything off of the original car. You could have just built it from scratch and been in the same place with a WHOLE bunch less sawzall work. A junkyard XR coulda donated the A-pillars and a roof mold could have been made from any car. I have an extra set of rear STAs in the shed for you. Hell, you don't even have to put XR4Ti body panels back on that thing!
That's some cool stuff. Thanks for sharing!
