i installed a aftermarket trans cooler and got rid of the small one behind the bumper. I have my aftermarket sitting low where it gets good air flow.
Can i just bypass the lines that run in and out of the radiator and hook directly into my aftermarket cooler ? Will that still cool the tranny fluid enough ?

Yeah.
Might as well remove those lines from the radiator, plug them (standard size/thread fitting--plugs available from auto parts stores...) and connect tem directly to your new trans cooler.
What you lose is possible help from the radiator to warm up trans fluid during cold weather use.
YMMV

I added an aftermarket cooler and bypassed the radiator circuit. My car is generally driven in warm temperatures so I don't think I need to be too concerned about the tranny fluid not warming up fast enough. I was concerned, however, about the tranny fluid core inside the radiator cracking and introducing coolant fluid into into my transmission.
