I have my MS controlling my fans - on at 190, off at 180. This past weekend i wired in a redundant fan relay as i had another fan relay failure... when my codriver was in the car so we got pretty warm. Nothing was harmed, luckily, still.

For the turbo - an STi turbo has that weird 3 bolt flange, you might be better off going a different route -just saying.

Caster / Camber - i modified my strut tops a la Gene and welded them up to fit some fox body mustang plates.
Hey Ray,

I'm curious if you have notice when your fans come on for your oil cooler when running an autocross event.

Unless the cooler has a thermostat, be careful. You may find it hard to even get the oil up to temp if there isn't a thermostat somewhere in the system.

Been pecking away at a rewire. Not much else has happened unfortunately. Busy doing other projects that bring in a little extra income every weekend.

Here are a few other things I've been working on because people like pictures.

Farm equipment refurb.

A part for another custom piece of equipment we are developing.

That "custom piece" looks pretty serious.

Thanks. Yes, It weighs over 200lbs. That is inch plate top and bottom. The "small" bushing is 2.5" in diameter on the inside, kinda hard to tell from the pictures the physical size of it.

Long weekend but not any real work on the car. Hope everyone had a good turkey day.

Here is the electrical box I'm using and how I'm running my new wiring stuff.

Found these ammo boxes for 12.15 on ebay. Reason: its water tight, dust tight, keeps the heat off and organizes stuff pretty well.

Put a couple terminal blocks inside for common ground and common +12V supply (there will be more later).

Image

Added these NEMA 6 cord grip fittings for all of the various wiring.

Image

Here is one installed

Image

Started running ground and starter as well as some other circuits like LC-1, sensors that need power from a common source. So far so good.

Thanks

Not that I have any right to be a critic but, a dash of the right size Heat Shrink on that wire loom ( and maybe a spot of silicone ) would make those compression connectors look as great as those welds. Love your work as always, Ammo box ? Oh Yea !
Happy laying it out.
I have a 3 ton hydraulic wire crimper if you get stuck on the ends.

Good thought Mike. There is "cold fusion" tape between the loom and fitting currently. However, I may switch it out with the nice heat shrink stuff I have. Thanks!

One thing I have learned. Don't use tape that has adhesive. It isn't worth it. Fiction tape or cold fusion seem to do the trick nicely.

No, not really. They are sturdy but not too heavy IMO. The lids are double layered and have a gasket around the edge. I'd say it weighs maybe 6lbs.

Didn't get too much done over the holidays, as time became an issue. Here is a small update.

I took a pause on the wiring for a bit to get the master cylinder replaced/updated to the larger bore of an '89 and add in a brake bias valve.

Image

Image

Image

Image

However I believe the fitting on the bias valve is ruined because there is a leak on the fitting that is face the fire wall.

The wheels came back from a friend of my brothers who traded acid dipping these for a welding service.

Image

I played with them for a second polishing them up.

Image

Hopefully my wife can paint them soon.
