Yeah, once I have my mill up and running they should turn out much much better.

This weekends work included mounting the two of the four tires and fixating the oil cooler. Not much else.





The club has a dyno day March 8th and I would really like to attend that. So I have got to get going.

Good tire size. Im running the same tire and size on my ride too. The overall tire diamter is small enough that you wont wont into rubbing issues.

Thanks. I figured for 100 bucks, even if they were all dented to hell, I couldn't pass on them. Now that ive polished two of them, I really like the way they are turning out. We were going to do gold centers but we like the look of the silver. So its staying for now.

Silver, polished, or gunmetal will look nice. Heck even machined face and black inside the spokes.

Another weekend and some more work completed. Coming down to the wire even though the first event is still 2 months out.

Items completed:

Wiring is at 90% now. Just a few little things left over. The box still has some stragglers in there but it is getting cleaned up.



Head light wiring is found at another fuse block up front. Note relays and fuses. This time I was smart and not only left extra wire length with a coil, but also added more wires in the harness than I needed for future growth.



Dad finished up all the wheels for me. See before and after below. We are just going to leave them like this for now.





Got a heat shield made for the turbo.



Almost got it complete until the welder cord crapped out. Made of stainless, I'll get better photos of it when I have it off next to finish it.



Passenger side of the engine bay is looking better than it ever has before. Wiring is run inside of fiberglass heat proof stuff.

That is just because yours is way more sorted Ray. If this was half the car yours is I'd have the desire to let it just sit on jack stands too.

Maybe I can tuck it some or add a fiberglass protection cover to the oil line. hmmm, good suggestion.

Ok. Got a few hours in this weekend and glad I did. Car is still not running but hopefully not too much longer.

Couple things tackled. First the cam shaft. The A237 doesn't build much vacuum and is all top end... (hence why my power brakes have not been up too par) Therefore I moved to a Ranger Roller cam and retarded it 4*. Need more low end anyways. Also used the recommended/expensive valve cover gasket.

Pulled the timing belt cover off and saw this! So glad I decided to looked into changing the cam now. Distributor bolt had backed out and caught against the cover. Then it started boring its way through the plastic but I caught it before any real damage was done.



Cam in, new timing set all around, loctited distributor pulley bolt and the mentioned valve cover gasket.



Next up was a Mocal oil cooler. Made up some -10an lines and put everything together. Lines still need tightening but short oil filter from Bosch and thermostat cooler are in place.

Then I put the intake side back together.



How I left it



Then I saw the turbo is leaking a bit of oil... Maybe time for something new/rebuilt.

I know it's a little late now but they say to run the A-237 cam about 4 degrees advanced to gain some lower end power.

I'm in the process of installing one in my car now.
