Re: DSP to SM build

Well Good Morning, I was going out to mock up my new exhaust system and at the same time look at the rear suspension of the XR to know why it looked different from one side to the other, so looking under the XR I first come across this
Image
Then I was look at this and said "the paint doesn't crack like that unless there's a reason"
Image
And here's the reason

Well guess what I'm doing for the rest of the weekend and then take it in to get reinforced. I knew something was wrong, I'm guess glad I didn't break anything big.

I believe Phlat has the templates for all the bracing and double walling of the mounting points. Adds a couple of pounds, but helps with situations like this. Thanks for posting. I doubt the majority of us will run into a problem like that with our driving, but its good to see. I have a couple extra beams if you need one.

I'm finding out what I need so far that if they break I'm dead in the water, so finding extra parts so that won't happen again.

I reinforced my rear beam with that TSS kit that i scored from Brad a couple years ago. You might want to consider doing something similar for certain.

Yeah, I think Brad is trying to see if they will make more. I hope so because I want to do that also.

Well because I'm not going to hold my breath for Will, I'm making my own templates today and I'm going to get them cut out next week, then to fit them for adjustments to be able to fix my beam.

I'd like to know too. I've love to see the XR and pick Ben's brain. :)

Can you have 2 sets of the beam reinforcements? I will pay you for them of course.

Let me take pic and send them to you first and you can see what I'm doing first and how I'm making the beam reinforcement pieces before you say "I'll pay you for them" I have 2 beams here now and they're both different, so what may match up to my beam maybe off on your beam, I will give you a pic of how I line up my beam so we can both be very close to the same. I'll let you know.
