I'll get some sets of beam reinforcement parts cut for you all later next week, the only thing is you guys will have to make the adjustment to the plates to make them fit just right. I just finish up my beam and installing it now, finding out some little details about the beam reinforcement after everything was welded up that I will tell you all about with pic and paper instructions. I tell you what though, this beams suspensions pick up points are going nowhere from now on and with delrin beam bushings the alignment should be a one time thing. I'll still check it but should hold up great from now on.

Michaelb: What I meant about the beams being different is.. The welds that Ford put on these beams back in the day are all a little bit different, so you may have to massage the beam reinforcement plates to have a really nice fit.

Or if you can't make the metal parts, would you sale me the templates? I can make the metal parts, I just don't want to get my rear apart and then get my car on stands for many days while I am making the templates and then the actual parts and get them weld it. I will be upgrading my rear but I want to get every thing ready to get it done as quick as possible. Thanks. :cheers

I will do this no problems, little white card board so that all you have to do is set them up on your beam to check they fit great and then cut the steel out yourself sounds great to me. I'll do it this week and let you know.

I've come to the conclusion that about 75% of products for these cars require modification to work. Not complaining or pointing fingers, just stating an observation.

Ben, if you or someone else is willing to make some kits, I'm sure some of us will buy one...or two.

So I ran my XR at this last event in Oakland and what a feeling, I believe at this point that the beam has been move the whole time I've had it to this level, I now have 2 more stock beams that I'm going to work on and do the same thing because this is big. My goal is to have 2 on hand, one for sale not painted and one for a spare.

I need a better turbo for sure, so that will be the next upgrade.

Hopefully I'll have an opinion on the Borg Warner 6258 soon. Joe Kolomyjec already does. It's killing me to still be racing the Focus ST while the CP XR is so close to being ready (yet so far).

I was able to hang around impound for no good reason this weekend at the Match Tour. Robert Lewis' '65 Mustang with 14" tires at all corners weighs 2896lb. This means I'll have about 450lb on him.

Wow! that's a lot of weight, can't wait to see driven in anger for the first time.

So Ok my last post was talking about buying a new turbo but I love aha moments. For life of me I couldn't figure out why it felt like I lost power but then thinking that maybe I'm getting the XR really hook up out of the turns and laying down some fast times. So today I said let me just look at the waste gate door on the turbo and all the items along the way, well when I put my hands on the lever that the waste gate door hinges on and said that doesn't feel right, like it was just open, the cool thing was I was right, stuck just open some carbon must have got in there because I did get it to start working again and can't wait for the next event in 2 weeks.

I haven't really been doing any real new stuff to my XR, moving weight from the front of the XR to the back without adding weight has been my main goal at this time and of course little stuff.

No autox time on mine yet, but the limited street driving I've done I am VERY impressed. Much better spool than my previous Cossie T4 hybrid and it is flowing more air per psi. My manifold and up pipe setup are far from ideal too.
