I am going to use SN95 Mustang spindles with 13" brakes, with a custom SLA suspension. After a lot of measuring it looks like the front frame rails will also have to be replaced.

Every move you make gets closer and closer to a full tube-framed car. Mmmm. Thanks for taking the time to take pictures and post them.

I started work on replacing the front frame rails, which means cutting out the rocker panels and replacing them with square tube. If you haven't seen before the rocker panels have a "third" layer of reinforcement in them which makes cutting them out really difficult.
I though my car was rust free, the rockers looked good on the outside but the were heavily rusted on the inside where the three layers connect to form the lower lip. I could only imagine what it would look like if I could actually see rust on the outside.

Cool shot Gene. :headbang That looks pretty good though. On my beater XR, parts of that 3-layer pinch-weld lip are
completely gone. On the project car, I've considered filling the rocker voids with that structural foam - same stuff that is
used on the new Ford trucks. I think when I'm done with the Brat project, that stuff may very well be at the top of the list
when I look at the materials cost. It is amazing stuff, but kinda pricey, and it only expands about 10% IIRC.

Yea, I was rather proud of that picture myself. 8)

Note too that the pic was taken at sunset. Deep symbolism.

Yes, yes, and yes.

The only problem with having both of those wings on there is the weight. On cold days, not even brand new struts can hold it all up.

'86 Coupe; 60K-something miles; 99% original; nothing special really. I think about selling it every now and then ...and then I take it for a ride and realize how that's a bad idea. :D
