Hey, no problem! I'm trying to take as many pictures of the swap as possible, just to give people a better idea of what's involved. When I started the project, there really wasn't much in the way of clear, coherent photographs (except for Stackz' site, of course) - I'm trying to fix that.

Colin, just another thought for you on the TB inlet/power steering interference issue, when using the Cossie intake... Have you considered using the Ranger pwr steering bracket and coming underneath the pump? I know you muck around with Rangers some, so you've probably already thought of this - figured there's no harm in suggesting it, in case you haven't.

Actually, the thought hadn't even occurred to me... I was out at the shop today and took the opportunity to check out the Ranger brackets - my Ranger ('86) has a similar setup to the Merkur. The other Ranger setup in the shop is from a '95, so the brackets only fit the EDIS block.

I compared the two brackets last night (no, you can't have mine
), and the difference seems to be about 6" in height (more than I thought actually). Plus, this bracket locates the pump out further towards the frame rail, so I think you might be able to route the inlet pipe inside the belt loop. Hmmm, problem might be the tensioner would get in the way.

Hey, where's my thanks to Erik for the Cossie intake.

GM IAT sensor on a cossie manifold... well, doesn't that look like a fish out of water?

Chop chop... nothing between those runners now.

Gasket lines up well after porting. You'll notice it hangs over on the inside edges - I'm planning to port the backside of the Volvo flange to match before welding it on.

Chopped out the studded portion of the cossie manifold to make way for nuts. (Deez nuts.)

The NPR intercooler I got for $50... w00t w00t

My corkscrew charge pipe.

EDIS module location - is there any reason this shouldn't work? I wonder how much heat this thing throw off...

I found a Midland-brand CB that fits just about perfectly in the ashtray location (since smoking is teh gh3y anyway) - only problem is, it's too deep... I had to take out my floor vent ducting to make way for the antenna wire and audio output (the CB plays into the AUX input on the CD player.)

Finally filled out my gauge holder.

The small NPR IC is an easy bolt-in... that is, if you don't mind relocating the radiator a little...

My IC has a tumor... I don't know how it got there...
That's all for now...

Nice update - keep 'em coming!
You gonna use a wireless link to the EDIS-4 module???
I haven't ever looked at them too close in junkyards, but are they typically mounted to a heat-sink in their native applications? For some reason, I don't think they are. I think you'll be fine, but I'd have a spare on-hand regardless.
You should be pretty close to firing this thing up, no?

Nooooo - I still need to get the head surfaced, get a valve job (why does that sound dirty?
), get that intake finished up, install the Snaab rad and universal expansion tank I just bought, wire up the Megaspurt, build a fuel rail, buy some injectors, mount the VR pickup for EDIS, get the inside of my crank pulley machined a little larger, figure out my accessory brackets (maybe just throw a serp belt pulley on this alt, shim some pullies, and call it a day...), etc, etc, etc... lots and lots of small stuff to finish up.
