It seemed to be blowing off prematurely and leaking over 10psi. It dident seem to leak at idle, though I never really paid attention to that before I shimmed it.turbofan wrote:you're using them as a spacer sitting under the spring right on top of the piston, right?
did yours make a little air leaky sound before you shimmed it?

I would not recommend that. I have one of those on Sugarbeet, and although it sounds pretty cool, it doesn't do the blow off job. it doesn't seem to flow enough air and the boost goes down rapidly between gears. i tend to think this is the fault of the blow-off. however, it *could* also be that the turbo was very much on its way out and therefore resistant to spin.
i'd go with an actual dump valve, like a forge or bailey. you can get a forge from bob for about $120, and it's probably worth it. Or you can look around and get one like frag's or mine for much less.
