Talk to JVL. I'd think he'd have some already on this side of the pond. Save you a headache.

Colin, how's the progress on the car coming along? Looking like it will be ready for carlisle? I'm in the midst of the hy35 swap and its going ok so far. Just got in from the garage and welding up the turbine outlet flange and elbow.

I'm kinda doubting the XR will make it to Carlisle this year. There are three main things standing between me and a running XR:

1. I need to remachine my crank pulley so the EDIS ring's mounting "shoulder" is centered around the crank hole... right now it's a little wobbly. Looking to weld a bead around it and remachine it, then enlarge the center hole for a slip-fit over the crank (as opposed to the current interference fit.)

2. I need to wire the Megasquirt.

3. I need to mill (or have milled) an adapter plate to put the 65mm 4.6 throttle body on the cossie manifold, then adapt my cable to fit it.

I'm hoping to take care of two of these jobs this weekend.

If by some stroke of luck I do get the car running before Carlisle, I may just throw a cone filter on the throttle body, neglect my fuel pump swapping, and drive to Carlisle NA.

Way too early to wuss out. Get to work and get-r-dun! 8)

This time three years ago, I hadn't even yet realized that my new motor wasn't going to fit in the engine bay.

Don't waste any time writing a response to this message - just get to work!!!! 8)

Alright, it's post-Carlisle and my car is running... so I've allowed myself to post in this thread once again!

So it's time for another round of updates. The engine is finally running, all that's left before I can drive it are to mount the battery and alternator, fill up the coolant, and maybe build a little more exhaust. :)

Well I just read all 15 pages and I love it!!! I want one now! Also I'm not totally on the up and up of Volvo parts but what years did they used the 16v Heads? also have you had any minor/serious problems since the conversion? Did you use the 2.3 head gasket or the Volvo gasket? And last but not least how much do you figure the total job cost you? Thanks, I love the job you did, congrats
