I've been fed up with the turbo oil drain for a while now.
Stock - i hated the two bolt flange. Took me longer to get those bolts in than anything.
Switched to the Stinger drain. Sized too small (stinger fixed this later on) and resulted in me rebuilding my turbo, only to find that the drain itself was causing too much pressure in the turbo.
So i figured, if -10AN is good, then -12AN must be better, right? I mean, there is no kill like overkill.
Well, this is true - however, the fittings .... wont fit with the drain in the stock location. So i had my drain come down, loop around, then back up and in, hardly optimal but i wanted to get thru the racing season without having to drop my oil pan.
Unfortunately, i'm also and idiot and put the stupid stainless braided line a bit too close to my newly relocated alternator, which decided it was a good idea to short on the hot lead on the alt. This resulted in an oil leak...
... and prompted me to properly route this line. So, i dropped the oil pan, cleaned it up, TIG'd on a steel 1/2" npt bung, plugged the stock drain location in the block, and... this better fricking work.
Top to bottom - stock, stinger, mine.
And installed ... looking up.
