I'm sure there is a Race Facility local to your area... if not... come to Ontario... LOL

St. Thomas Dragway... Grand Bend... or Toronto Motorsports Park (Formerly known as Cayuga Dragway Park).

these are just 3 of our Ontario facilities we have at our dispense. :D

After reading the post and all the replies, I've come to two points:

Point 1: There are too many young punks on this board.

Point 2: There are too many old farts on this board.

Thank you and have a nice day. :BS :headbang

I just read the whole thing and am trying to figure out where this fit's into the topic of racing on the Street? LOL.

Me, I don't do "organized" street racing but once in a while handing out a "spanking" I've done. I would say most have had a little light to light action since It's almost impossible to do over 100 from traffic light to traffic light. The only problem with that is the person loosing might get pissed and clip the other driver. The funny thing is, I actually drive slower now then I did when I was younger, must be the sense LOL.

thank you very much for posting this info... it is very well needed so that others may use this info to research where they can and cannot race.

My final note to add to this thread... If you and your family is Driving down the street and you get rear ended and slammed into a concrete pole... your son/daughter is pinned in the car... your significant other is dead... and / or your car pins a pedestrian between that pole... at ANY time of the day / night... whos fault is it... is it yours? or the dipshit who was racing his car carelessly and slammed into your car?

Think about that one for a moment will you... because most people who race on the public roadways arent thinking anyhow... let alone of what I just said.

Wow..

Thanks for the entertainment here on this topic.

Street racing is bad....very bad. But we can't stop people from doing what they want to do. So, if they decide to have their hooked up, all out big motor, blah blah blah ...cost me $50,000 to build, blah blah...get taken away from them from the cops, well, to me? That's the most funniest $#!%. Well deserved!!! Kiss your $#!* goodbye, and your license, then you will have to sit and weep that you can't drive anymore, blah blah. Then, you can wave to it when it's auctioned off!

Or, you can crash and kill yourself and others, and have your family sit and feel guilty that their son/daughter had pea's for brains.

Ok, that's my $0.02 ! :D

me??? With my bad ass car...will NEVER street race.
That's why I go to the tracks.

Adios!

ps..ROCK ON IAN!!!!! :D (clap clap clap)

but what makes you think that this is most likely to happen by a street racer? it is more likely to happen in normal traffic by someone who is not paying attention. think about it this way. you are driving along in left lane. guy in front of you is making a left turn. you slow down, the guy that is a few car lengths behind you who is talking on his cellphone dosen't even see your brake lights because he just reached down to get his mocha latte out of the cupholder(obviuosly not driving a merkur) and slams into the back of you at 50mph. i think is a much more likely situation than assuming that a person who enjoys DRIVING and concentrates on his/her DRIVING is going to cause the accident.

Well, at least we are making some progress on this issue, and both sides are coming to a compromise. Sounds like another internet discussion has turned out good. We should do this more often. Let's keep talking about it, though, just in case folks feel as though we can fine tune the resulting compromise even more.

Fine... wanna play russian roulette? Fire arms are illegal to posses without proper training...

also we can go play demo derby on ciy streets too... or maybe just throw molotovs at cop cars???

now those statements are JUST as stupid as "street racing is safe when there is a time and place on public roadways."

my statements are not personal attacks on anyone so... dont take this wrong but...

YOU DESERVE TO LOSE YOUR LICENSE IF YOU GET BUSTED!!! and I hope someone else buys your car at a police auction and treats it with respect!

Yeah, one second I'll be racing someone in the middle of the night on a deserted road, the next second who knows?! I may decide to throw a burning pitchfork through a baby's head! Same exact thing!

that response is just retarded. and NOONE was complaining about getting busted. we all know it is illegal. and all the other mindless drivel you mentioned are activities designed to hurt or cause damage. you really should try comparing apples to apples not kumquats. how about the thousands of people who are subjected to second-hand smoke. some of those people just may get cancer. just like some people involved in street racing may get hurt. now how many of you smoke around non-smokers?

also fyi. right off of nhtsa's website. 41 percent of speeding deaths were also drinking. 14 percent were sober. so alcohol seems to be the problem here. not racing. did you know that there were 12000 fatal crashes as a result of speeding, 14000 people died. but there were 38000 fatal crashes not involving speed. and 43000 died. 11 percent of speeding deaths were caused by large trucks. seven percent were passenger cars. and per miles driven you are 50 percent less likely to be involved in a speed related death on a local road than on the interstate or expressway. and my state(new jersey) has the lowest speeding related deaths in the US. explain to me why we have to rail against street racing, when we all know that the facts given above are for speeding in general not just street racing. end point.

It still is illegal... just cause your state has a lower statistic of deaths relative to speed doesnt make it a lesser offence. Racing is ILLEGAL and STUPID on public roadways...

I've had my fair share of retarded moments in my youth... and thankfully i didnt get caught doing it... but i broke the law... and if i did get caught i would take the loss.

FIND A REAL RACETRACK TO RACE ON!!!
